Moms and Babies Meditation
Tuesdays 2pm - 3:30pm
with Kadampa Buddhist Teacher, Lynne Tierney.
This class is designed for moms with babies one-year old and younger. With your baby in tow, you can sit in the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere of our meditation room and be guided through a simple breathing meditation and a practical Buddhist teaching, to help you deal with the challenges of parenting. No need to worry if your baby needs to feed or starts to cry. There is an assistant available to hold or play with your child if you would like to meditate "hands free" After the class, you are welcome to enjoy coffee, tea, and snacks with other moms in our café.
These classes are drop-in; no need to register in advance. The front entrance has many stairs so if you have your baby in a stroller you can enter through our side laneway door. Please ring the bell.
Overcoming Stress
Jan. 17 – Feb. 7
Mental stress is something we carry every day and it interrupts our ability to stay calm, centred, and balanced. Our reactions are often laced with frustration and anger and we have little space in our mind for others. Meditation helps reduce stress and with practice we will start to feel more peaceful, happy and clear. Take the time in the New Year to develop the skills taught by Buddha to calm and strengthen the mind.
Jan. 17 – A balanced life
Jan. 24 – How to meditate
Jan. 31 – Meditation in action
Feb. 7 – Staying positive
Cost: $10 a class or $40 for 5 classes.
