Al happiness, aniety, and frea arises from an attitude of self-centredness, or what is often referred to in Buddhism as self-cherishing.
In this course, we learn to identify this inner poison and contemplate why it is said to be the root of all our problems. With less self-cherishing we are not so wrapped up in ourselves and have more time for others. As well, all our relationships and life experiences become more positive, less cumbersome, and light.
All the problems of human society, such as war, crime, pollution, drug addiction, poverty, injustice, and disharmony within families, are the result of self-cherishing.
All the happiness there is in the world
Arises from wishing others to be happy.
Al the suffering there is in the world
Arises from wishing oneself to be happy.
