Gen Kelsang Thekchen
Canadian National Spiritual Director
Gen Kelsang Thekchen is our newly elected National Spiritual Director for Canada and the Resident Teacher of Chandrakiriti Kadampa Meditation Centre Canada (CKMCC).
He began his Kadampa Buddhist practice at Chandrakirti in 1995 before moving to Kingston to be resident teacher in 1998, the year he ordained. Gen Thekchen is delighted to return to his home town to help the people of Toronto find inner peace through meditation.
Gen Thekchen is renowned for his ability to present Buddha's teachings in a simple, practical and often humorous way, making it easy to put into practice.
He will be teaching the Teacher Training Program, Foundation Program and various General Program classes at different locations in the GTA and also leading day courses and retreats throughout the year.
